The mission of Omega Boys Club/Street Soldiers is to keep young people alive and free, unharmed by violence and free from incarceration. We provide youth with opportunity and support to build positive lives for themselves and move into contributing roles in society.

Description
The OMEGA LEADERSHIP ACADEMY prepares 400 young people each year to live free from violence and incarceration, and develop the confidence and skills to succeed in school and go to college. There are 157 Omega college graduates to date, and 44 were enrolled in spring 2010. Program components are: - Math, Literacy & Life Skills Class prepares students to graduate from high school or pass the GED exam. - Omega Family Meetings are a time of nurturing, reinforcement, motivation, and renewal. Challenges are discussed and youth shown how to apply the Rules for Living. Counseling and advocacy are provided. - Omega College Prep Class prepares students for college entrance. The curriculum includes financial literacy, reading and writing literacy, life skills, and academic counseling and referrals to help them plan for, apply and select colleges. Omega helps students choose schools, complete applications and financial aid forms, and sign up for the S.A.T. - Omega Scholarship Fund provides need-based scholarships. - Collegian Support Program provides support to ensure graduation. Our 4-year average college retention rate is 96%.
